The exhibition Art in Public examines the work of Asmundur Sveinsson in the light of his idea that art should be present in everyday life and not confined to museums.
The exhibition places Asmundur Sveinsson´s art into the context of the society he lived and worked in. It emphasises his efforts to shape and enrich people´s lives and their environment. His life's work is also viewed in an international context to throw light on the incredible changes in society and the technological and historical developments Asmundur Sveinsson experienced and, to and extent, participated in during his life.

The Blue Lagoon

Guests can stay in the lagoon for 45 minutes after closing.
The Blue Lagoon is located on the Reykjanes peninsula in southwestern Iceland only 15 minutes from Keflavik International Airport and 40 minutes from the capital, Reykjavik.
The Eurasian and American tectonic plates meet on the Reykjanes peninsula. The peninsula is primarily composed of porous lava, not dense enough to prevent porous lava from penetrating it.
Reservoirs filled with extremely hot geothermal seawater are located as deep as 2000 metres.
